The School of Public Health, Nanchang University, has experienced rapid growth in academic strength and disciplinary development in recent years. It currently offers doctoral program in Public Health and Preventive Medicine, along with two master's degree programs at the first-level discipline in Public Health and Preventive Medicine (academic degree and professional degree). In addition, the School hosts two second-level master's degree programs in Social Medicine and Health Management and Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics. Notably, the discipline of Pharmacology & Toxicology ranks among the top 1.41‰ globally in ESI.
At the undergraduate level, the School enrolls students in Preventive Medicine (Bachelor of Medicine) and Medical Laboratory Technology (Bachelor of Science). Both programs have been recog-nized as National First-Class Undergraduate Program Construction Sites. In the latest ShanghaiRanking's Best Chinese Undergraduate Programs Rankings, they are ranked 26th and 20th nationwide, respectively.

Additionally, three Principal Investigator (PI) laboratories led by high-level recruited talents, have been established. The School actively promotes interdisciplinary integration and has built a discipline system that serves national strategies and aligns with regional development needs.
The School hosts several high-level research platforms, including the Jiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Disease Prevention and Public Health, the Jiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control, and a Large-Scale Instrument Sharing Platform. The total laboratory area exceeds 3,000 square meters, with research equipment valued at over RMB 50 million.
In education and academic recognition, the School has been awarded two National Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Projects, along with multiple provincial-level honors, including a Provincial Featured Major, a Provincial Brand Major, a Provincial First-Class Major, and a Provincial High-Quality Course. The School also hosts a University Key Discipline and serves as the affiliated institution for the Jiangxi Provincial Nutrition Society and the Health Statistics Committee of the Jiangxi Preventive Medicine Association.
Over the past three years, the School has successfully secured more than 140 research projects at various levels, including 14 grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Total research funding has exceeded RMB 18.5 million. Faculty members have published over 210 research papers in provincial and national journals, including more than 130 papers indexed by SCI, demonstrating a steady rise in research productivity and impact.
