Prof. Xianglei Cheng serves as a member of the National Teaching Material Review Committee for Health Inspection and Quarantine programs (2nd edition) and is the coordinator of a Jiangxi Provincial High-Quality Online Open Course.

Research Focus

The team conducts research on the detection, characterization, and health risk assessment of environmental and food-related hazard factors, integrating analytical chemistry, biosensing technologies, and public health risk evaluation. Major research themes include:

Development of high-sensitivity analytical methods for toxic and carcinogenic compounds in food and the environment

Mechanistic studies of chemiluminescence and nanomaterial-based sensing systems

Detection and transformation mechanisms of nitrosamines, pesticides, antibiotics, and emerging contaminants

Health risk evaluation of heavy metals, selenium, and environmental pollutants

Selected Research Projects

Prof. Cheng has led multiple projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and provincial funding agencies. Representative research projects include:

Mechanism of GPX4-mediated STING Activation in Hexavalent Chromium-induced Lung Carcinogenesis based on Ferroptosis (NSFC, 2025-2028)
