Prof. Xian Hao is a Distinguished Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Public Health, Nanchang University. He received his PhD in Science from the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2011. He subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at the Technical University of Denmark, the University of Houston, the University of California, Merced, and the Institut Pasteur in France. He was awarded the Danish University Alliance Postdoctoral Fellowship and the Roux-Cantarini Fellowship from the Institut Pasteur. He is also a recipient of the Jiangxi Provincical “Double-Thousand Plan” Innovation Leading Talent Program.
Prof. Hao has led three projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and one key project funded by the Jiangxi Provincial Natural Science Foundation. He has published more than 40 peer-reviewed papers as first or corresponding author in leading international journals, including Nature Communications, Genome Biology, Nano Letters, Analytical Chemistry, and Chemical Engineering Journal.
Research Focus
Prof. Hao’s research focuses on the early detection of major infectious and emerging/re-emerging diseases, as well as the development and application of single-molecule technologies in public health laboratory science. His work addresses both cutting-edge innovation and practical needs in health laboratory testing, with three primary research directions:
— Highly sensitive nucleic acid detection technologies
Development of advanced detection methods for miRNA and viral RNA, targeting biomarkers for early disease diagnosis.
— Nano-biosensing platforms
Construction of nanobiotechnology-based sensing systems and development of portable detection devices suitable for field and point-of-care testing.
— Therapeutic nanotechnology systems
Interdisciplinary expansion into nano-enabled therapeutic systems, forming an integrated “detection-intervention” research framework.
