The Jiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Disease Prevention and Public Health was originally established in 2017 as the Jiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Preventive Medicine, approved by the Department of Science and Technology of Jiangxi Province. In 2024, the laboratory was officially reorganized and approved under its current name.
Aligned with the goals of the Healthy China Initiative and the evolving public health innovation landscape within the framework of comprehensive health development, the laboratory is dedicated to addressing the growing complexity and severity of disease prevention and control challenges. Focusing on the public health needs of Jiangxi Province, it aims to develop evidence-based and context-appropriate prevention and intervention strategies, providing technical support for disease prevention, health protection, and health promotion.
The laboratory has established a high-level academic team characterized by a strong presence of early- and mid-career scholars with doctoral degrees and senior professional titles, a well-balanced disciplinary structure, and a strong culture of innovation and academic rigor. Closely aligned with advances in disease prevention and control science, the laboratory has achieved a series of impactful outcomes in both basic research and technological innovation, contributing to the advancement of public health and preventive medicine in Jiangxi Province and beyond.
Research Areas
Research at the Laboratory spans multiple domains of disease prevention and public health, including:
— Chronic disease prevention and control
— Environment and health
— Nutrition and health
The Laboratory has made progress in developing new concepts, mechanisms, methodologies, and technologies in disease prevention and public health research.
